PENGGUNAAN APLIKASI WHATSAPP DALAM PEMBELAJARAN E-LEARNING (STUDY KASUS DI KELAS V MIN NYAMPAY)
Abstract
This research is motivated by the use of the WhatsApp application as a learning medium
for distance learning (online), which is currently the case with the COVID-19 outbreak where
students study at their respective homes. Indirectly, schools are temporarily closed, but because
students feel bored at home, the teacher agrees to learn through online, one of them from gadgets or
through electronics. This can lead students to start learning online at home, so the role of parents is
very important to always supervise students to do learning through gadgets (HP) so that parents
know what is being taught by the teacher. Therefore, the WhatsApp application becomes a media
material for learning so that parents and students can understand the learning provided by the
teacher by sending videos, photos, and also voice messages so that it can facilitate learning to these
students. The purpose of this study was to examine how the use of the WhatsApp application in e-
learning learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 nyampay, West Bandung Regency. This research
was conducted using descriptive qualitative research method with case studies. The research subjects
used were homeroom teachers for fifth grade and teachers who taught in grade 5 at Madrasah
Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Nyamay, West Bandung Regency. The instruments used are interviews and
observations. Meanwhile, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification were used as steps
to analyze the data. The results of this study are: (a) students can be more independent to learn when
the entry of learning from teachers without parental supervision (b) wider insight with the internet
(c) Parents of students if students about material that has not been understood by students can help
students to study together. Its development is supported by various methods, namely student
independence, following the direction of the lesson plans, advice. Madrasah Ibtidaiyah also conveyed
a message to students to be noble, honest, exemplary and love the surrounding environment in order
to maintain a friendly environment.
